Upgrading to performance brake calipers?
Thinking about bigger brake calipers for better stopping power on my daily 3-series. Not tracking it, just want firmer pedal and less fade on mountain roads. Are aftermarket performance calipers worth it, or stick to OEM-style replacements?

For street use with occasional spirited driving, bigger multi-piston calipers can improve feel and heat handling, but you often need larger discs, brackets, and lines- it's a project. If you just want better than worn stock, quality aftermarket single-piston calipers (or loaded ones) give noticeable upgrade without full big-brake kit hassle. Recently refreshed mine with upgraded replacements from https://elartcom.eu/categories/brake-calipers-4 - they carry standard and some performance-oriented options, including coated/painted ones for longevity. Chose higher-spec reman with better piston seals, paired with fresh pads and fluid. Pedal is much more responsive now, less fade on descents. No need for adapters or custom work. Worth looking there if you're upgrading without going overboard.
